A Witchy Tea to Heat Things Up
I made this tea for a client this week and thought... why not share the recipe with this fantastic collective. I may be a wisdom keeper, but I'm not a gatekeeper!
Come to Me Tea
Warming for cold days and helps to heat things up in your love life... you can't miss with this tea. It is Valentine's Day weekend after all. This tea can also help you connect with yourself in a deeper way and it supports the root, sacral, solar plexus, and heart chakras. You may drink it solo or share with a partner(s).
Ok so hear me out... there are a lot of ingredients in this recipe and I know not everyone has practically an apothecary at their house. So, use what you have or can easily source and don't worry about the rest.
Ingredients:
Rooibos Tea Red Rose Petals Rosehips Chamomile Peppermint Lemon Balm Mullein |
Clove Jasmine Damiana Cinnamon Chicory Root Lemongrass Orange Peel |
Ginger Root Anise Seed Cardamom Magic Intention Love Sweetener to taste |
Mix up some magic!
This is where you get to have fun and use your intuition (because you have to use your intuition in order to strengthen it). I absolutely adore damiana and lemon balm, they are my two favorite herbal allies, so I have a tendency to be a little heavy handed with these two herbs. I also really love cinnamon and ginger, especially in a tea, and have a tendency to use more of those as well. But you get to make this unique to you. Don't have access to chicory root? That's ok, leave it out! Detest Chamomile? Who needs it, leave it out. You get the picture. Just FYI, it doesn't take much cardamom or clove once it is ground to be really strong (same thing with Anise... but Anise isn't my favorite herb... so that may just be me).
You can grind the ingredients with a mortar and pestle if you are really into your kitchen witchery tools. I'm a modern witch and use a spice grinder because... easy button! You can also leave the ingredients loose and utilize a tea sleeve or strainer. You may also leave all of the goodies in your cup and do a little tea leaf reading session for yourself. It is up to you!
Now, don't forget to add your intentions... the intentions are the special sauce (i.e. you... you are the magic). If you are calling in a partner then infuse your intention into your tea during its creation. If you are adding some spice to your current partnership then feel that intention flowing into your tea and strengthening as the tea steeps. If you are solo and love it that way absolutely utilize this tea to create a deeper relationship with yourself and stimulate your creative center!
If you are using a sweetener you can stir extra sweetness into your relationship with another person or with yourself (because all good relationships require you to have a good relationship with yourself first).
*Witch tip: If you are using a spoon to stir in sweetner, always stir clockwise to call in or counter clockwise to release.
Use 1-2 tsp of tea for every 6-8 oz of water depending on personal taste and allow to steep for 15 (ish) minutes.
Now for the magical properties in context of this specific magical application:
Herbs for love: rose, rose hips, chamomile, peppermint, lemon balm, mullein, clove, jasmine, damiana, cinnamon, orange, ginger, cardamom
Herbs for lust: lemongrass, jasmine, damiana, cinnamon, cardamom
Herbs to remove blockages: peppermint, lemongrass, clove, chicory, anise seed
Herbs for strength and courage: rooibos tea, mullein
Whew! That's a lot of words! If you made it this far you still have an attention span that is longer than that of a gnat... and I'm proud of you (seriously... pat yourself on the back).
I hope that you enjoy creating a little kitchen witchery for yourself because really all actions done with intention are sacred. Whether that is making a cup of tea, or journaling with your morning cup of coffee, or taking a shower with intention instead of on autopilot, they are all sacred actions of self care. When we connect more fully to these simple moments we create more presence in our lives and we inherently feel more fulfilled. You are sacred and you deserve to treat (and be treated) as such!
Below is a condensed version for your grimoire or recipe box if you would like to add it to your repertoire.
